7 Chakras
- Chakras
- Welcome to Reiki with Sally! We’re here to guide you on a journey of self-discovery and healing. Today, we’re jumping into the world of chakras. These seven energy centres play a crucial role in our physical, mental, and spiritual health.
- Chakras – the 7 main Chakras
- The world of chakras is a fascinating one and understanding how to use them to your advantage can lead you down a great path of abundance. The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC. There are seven chakras, each with a unique meaning about our body, life, breath, mind, intellect, and overall sense of well-being.
- What is a Chakra?
- A chakra is an energy centre. In a perfectly healthy person, the chakras work in unison to create life-force energy. The term “chakra” is Sanskrit for “wheel,” referring to the spinning, spherical energy centre that makes up a chakra.
- The 7 Main Chakras
- Here are the seven chakras and their corresponding numbers in order.
- Root Chakra (Muladhara):
- Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana)
- Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura)
- Heart Chakra (Anahata)
- Throat Chakra (Vishuddha)
- Third Eye Chakra (Ajna)
- Crown Chakra (Sahasrara)
- Each chakra is of unique importance and has its own function for the overall well-being of your body. So, if any become out of sync, it can negatively impact your physical, mental, and spiritual health.
- In today’s hectic, stress-inducing world, fully balanced chakras are extremely rare to come by. Therefore, don’t feel disheartened if you suspect something’s not quite right.
- Chakras – locations
- Where you will find your chakras in the body.
- Root Chakra (Muladhara): This is the first chakra, located at the base of the spine. It’s associated with feelings of safety and grounding, and it’s at the base of the chakra system and lays the foundation for expansion in your life.
- Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana): The second chakra, located in the lower abdomen. It’s associated with the emotional body, sensuality, and creativity.
- Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura): The third chakra, located in the upper abdomen. It’s associated with self-confidence, self-esteem, and feelings of self-worth.
- Heart Chakra (Anahata): The fourth chakra, located at the heart. It’s associated with love, joy, and inner peace.
- Throat Chakra (Vishuddha): The fifth chakra, located at the throat. It’s associated with communication, self-expression, and truth.
- Third Eye Chakra (Ajna): The sixth chakra, located on the forehead, between the eyes. It’s associated with intuition, imagination, and wisdom.
- Crown Chakra (Sahasrara): The seventh chakra, located at the top of the head. It’s associated with spiritual connection, enlightenment, and consciousness.
- Each chakra is important and plays a unique role in your overall well-being. If any of them are out of balance, it can affect your physical, mental, and spiritual health. It’s important to understand and maintain the balance of these chakras for a healthy and harmonious life.
- Chakras – How they may get blocked
- The chakras can get blocked by various factors, such as:
- Stress and trauma: These can cause resistance and knots in the energy flow, resulting in blockages in one or more chakras.
- Lifestyle and habits: These can affect the balance and harmony of the chakras, such as eating unhealthy food, not exercising, or engaging in addictive behaviours.
- Emotions and thoughts: These can influence the vibration and frequency of the chakras, such as anger, fear, guilt, shame, or negativity.
- When the chakras are blocked, they can cause physical, mental, and spiritual problems in different aspects of life. Therefore, it is important to unblock and open them regularly.
- Chakra – Unblocking
- There are several ways to unblock and open your chakras:
- Meditation: Chakra meditation is similar to traditional meditation, but the intention for the practice is to open and clear the body’s energy centres.
- Yoga Poses: Certain yoga poses can help unblock specific chakras
- Breathing Exercises: These can help to balance and open your chakras.
- Affirmations and Mudras: Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to overcome self-sabotaging, negative thoughts. Mudras are symbolic hand gestures used in Hindu and Buddhist ceremonies.
- Healing Stones and Crystals: These are used to cleanse, balance and align your chakras.
- Sound Therapy: This involves using sound frequencies to interact with the energies or frequencies of the body.
- Pranayama: This is a practice that involves breath control in yoga. It is believed to influence the flow of vital energy in the body.
- Reiki: chakra healing, helping you unblock and open your seven main chakras from the Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra.
- Remember, it’s important to understand each chakra’s function and capability. This knowledge will help you heal them when they are unbalanced. Also, self-awareness is key to deciphering what’s going on in your body. By cultivating this skill, you can check in with yourself on a day-to-day basis.
- For example, to further unlock your Root Chakra, you can get restful sleep and exercise. You can also eat red foods or drinks to stimulate that chakra system. Wear red healing stones and clothing or keep red items around your space.
