What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese term for the hands-on healing technique which is said to be thousands of years old. Dr Mikao Usui discovered Reiki in the early 1900’s whilst on his quest for the answer to physical healing. Reiki means: Rei = Universal and Spiritual Wisdom, Ki = Life Energy, which translates to Spiritual Energy. Reiki is a spiritual hands-on healing that uses the life force energy channeled from the Universe. Reiki supports the body’s natural ability to heal itself, it is intelligent, and because of this the receiver will always receive the right amount of Healing Energy. Reiki energy will always go to where it is needed and is used with “The highest will and good” which can never do harm.
What are the benefits of Reiki?
During your Reiki session you will experience relaxation and may even drift into a meditative state or a very light sleep. Reiki promotes the mind, body and spirits natural self-healing; can also relieve pain and tension and reduce stress and anxiety. Reiki improves the flow and balance of the energy system that supports healing. Reiki is complimentary to other forms of health treatments. Reiki healing can help your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual energies become more balanced.
What will a Reiki session look like for me?
You will be welcomed into my Reiki Studio where you will experience a serene, relaxed environment. Soft Reiki music will be playing in the background, soft fragrant candles, and a salt lamp will add to the ambiance of the studio which will assist in your comfort, relaxation and healing experience. After introductions I will then ask you to lay on the massage bed (fully clothed) and I will ensure that you are comfortable before we begin. There are 12 hand positions whilst laying on your back before I ask you to lay on your tummy for the remaining 8 hand positions. I prefer to use the method of hovering my hands over your body as I get to feel the reiki energy flowing through me to you. Sometimes I may be guided to place my hands lightly on you. Please let me know if your preference is for the session to be completely no touch. I complete the session using a sound bowl.

How can I make the most of my Reiki session?
To ensure that our time together is most effective for you and your relaxation, and to assist me in running my practice smoothly, I ask that you attend your session on time; if you are late, it will reduce our time together and unfortunately you will not receive a full treatment. A reduced treatment session does not reduce the price of the session.

What is the Cancellation Policy?
I understand that at times our best intended plans can get interrupted when we wake up not feeling the best or when we have an unexpected family emergency; If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact me via a phone call or text message as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment.

Is there any other important information I should know?
IMPORTANT INFORMATION PLEASE READ:Health & Safety Policy
The maximum weight the treatment table can withstand is 136kg.As you will be laying in a relaxed state for up to one hour, I request that you use your home bathroom before arriving to avoid any discomfort during your session. My goal is to provide you with an hour of comfortable relaxation.Due to Health and Privacy, toilet/bathroom facilities are not available. Public toilets are located across from the old Rhynie Pub near the information bay and playground.
